Cell-Level Healing – Sample Meditations*
Arthritis results in inflammation that affects the joints of the body, including the fingers, wrist, knees, ankles, hips, and neck. There are two types of arthritis: osteoarthritis, a condition wherein calcium is deposited at the joints, enlarging and deforming the joints; and rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune condition wherein the joints often remain continually swollen and painful. The inflammation seems to travel from one part of the body to another, wreaking havoc wherever it lands. The cause of arthritis is not fully known, but injury, infection, or genetic predisposition is often indicated.
The specific types of cells involved in arthritis can be grouped into two categories: those that create calcium deposits and those that create the inflammatory response. The healing meditations for both types of arthritis include working with the two separate cellular events of bony deposition and/or inflammation. Inflammation causes pain, and without some relief most people with arthritis find it extraordinarily difficult to enjoy life.
BRIDGE TO HEALING
1. Osteoclasts can recognize the unnecessary calcium knobs, shards, and spicules that tear the soft tissue and exacerbate the inflammatory response. Call the osteoclasts in your body to an imaginary “board meeting” and announce that their top priority is to seek out unnecessary calcium deposits and completely remove them.
2. Trust that the genetic coding of the osteoclasts will restore to your body the optimal amount of bone and the proper distribution of calcium.
BRIDGE TO HEALING
1. Imagine that your breath can reach the painful places in your body and linger there, softening the hard edge of pain so that you can subsequently release some of the pain as you breathe out. Repeat this until you feel you can move to the next step.
2. Imagine a cool mountain waterfall pouring through your body and washing over your hot joints, carrying the inflammation down and out through the bottoms of your feet. Visualize the cells that respond to the inflammatory signals beginning to slow down and return to normal patterns of quiescence. Visualize them remaining quiet unit they are truly needed to fig a specific illness.
